The Permanent Supportive Housing EHV - Housing Locator is a vital program requirement for meeting the District of Columbia’s lease-up goals for PSHP EHV participants. Once an individual or a family is matched to PSHP EHV and assigned to a Provider, the Provider shall work expeditiously with the participant to compile necessary documentation, identify a unit, complete paperwork (both with the District of Columbia Housing Authority (DCHA) and the landlord, and navigate the lease-up and move-in process. The Providers shall ensure that housing navigators and
case managers are working in coordination to assist the participant with housing search to complete the EHV application. To assist in expediting the lease-up process, Providers shall ensure EHV applications have all required EHV documentation as outlined by DCHA prior to submission. This position must be staffed with a dedicated and service-oriented individual, who is committed to working in a professional environment with at-risk communities.

EVERYDAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Identify and secure housing for participants as quickly as possible,
 Active recruitment and retaining of landlords and housing managers willing to rent to
participants
 Should have knowledge, skills, and resources to understand landlords’ perspectives,
understand landlord and tenant rights and responsibilities, and negotiate landlord supports.
 Assisting case managers with triaging issues that arise to ensure landlord concerns are
responded to by the appropriate Agency/Provider in a timely fashion and assist case
management staff in mediating any landlord-tenant issues that may arise.
 Conducting regular community outreach initiatives to increase the number of landlords
participating in District programs and expand the number of units available to participants
served through PSHP EHV.
 Track and list out all Clients and the self-certification needed
 Team with case manager to schedule viewing (with transportation if needed)
 Create a list of identified units for Clients search each week
 Complete all housing application daily
 Track and manage weekly reports
 Attend the briefings as needed and track the housing application status’
 Other relevant duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 Bachelor's in business administration, social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, or
related service/science disciplines
 One (1 year) of experience involving engagement with landlords or property managers, in
real estate, or conducting appropriate connections of individuals, especially those
experiencing homelessness, to housing services
 Knowledge of housing resources, subsidy programs and the Continuum of Care for
individuals experiencing homeless, as well as experience working with landlords and
property managers is preferred. or real estate related disciplines.
 Housing Locator without a bachelor’s degree can meet minimum qualifications by
substituting at least three (3) years of work experience in a social service and/or human
service field, business administration, or experience involving engagement with landlords or
property managers, in real estate, or conducting appropriate connections of individuals,
 Crisis management experience a plus
 Excellent written and oral communication skills
 Excellent time management skills
 Exceptional ability to multi-task and excellent organizational skills
 Prior experience and understanding of causes of homelessness
 Experience working with landlords, local rental markets and/or housing sales
 Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
 Ability to work with as well as serve a diverse population

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
