Job Description


Reporting to the Senior Director of People & Culture, the People & Culture Business Partner – Stores, East will provide thought partnership to our Vuori stores teams in the areas of talent management, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and ensuring our Vuori culture is thriving. You will contribute to building all aspects of the employee lifecycle. You will partner with store leadership to execute strategies in areas like coaching/development, organizational design, succession planning, talent assessment and development, compensation, and employee relations.

This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, employment law compliance, worker's compensation, and creation, execution, and tracking of People metrics to support business decisions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the creation of stores related initiatives that are aligned to our overall People & Culture strategy.
  • Be a thought partner to stores leadership and team members and demonstrate success in assessing organizational health of store work environments, employee relations, coaching, performance management, career development, retention, and rewards programs.
  • Determine ways to continue to leverage our strengths and identify opportunities either across the fleet, within a district, or at a store level while finding the right balance between speed and process/compliance. Recommend creative solutions.
  • Be the gatekeeper of Vuori’s culture and values.
  • Partner with the Recruiting Team to identify strengths and opportunities in our hiring process, assessment of talent, and ways to improve stores capabilities in identifying and hiring top talent.
  • Identify ways to create data that will be most impactful to our stores and influence business leaders with data-driven recommendations.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity in an evolving, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Develop change management plans and manage stakeholders before and after changes take place.
  • Be an enthusiastic partner to the stores team, collaborate, and have a strong drive to create a positive work environment.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication including high-quality document preparation and presentation skills.
  • Be able to work independently and exercise excellent judgment, as well as be an active member of both the store leadership and our People and Culture team.
  • Contribute to creating and implementing standards for recording employee relations issues and investigations, maintaining and updating People and Culture related policies and procedures in our Employee Handbook and Stores communication channels.
  • Manage routine to complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations and partners with leadership to recommend appropriate action to resolve the issues in a timely manner.
  • Partner with the Senior Director of People & Culture on developing and implementing engagement tools to increase morale.
  • Administer accommodations and worker's compensation programs and policies for stores, in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws and under the general direction and guidance of the Senior Director of People and Culture and the legal department.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance; partner with legal department as needed/required.
  • Collaborate with other areas of the People Team on the implementation and rollout of plans, programs and policies.
  • Research, analyze and respond to employee/manager questions and/or issues regarding People and Culture policies and processes.
  • Help to identify training needs for the business, partner in implementation and participate in evaluation and monitoring of success.
  • Complete other projects as assigned by the People and Culture leadership.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in HR or Business, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant HR generalist/business partner experience in dynamic, fast-paced organizations.
  • Extensive experience in employee relations, performance management, and federal and state employment laws (ie: EEO, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, HIPPA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Well organized, plans effectively and prioritizes time according to what is most impactful.
  • Dependable and can be counted upon to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Strong consulting and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Strong interviewing/fact finding and decision-making skills.
  • Strong conflict management skills with demonstrated understanding of interpersonal relationship building.
  • Proven success at developing strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated competence in other human resource disciplines with including compensation, change management, talent management, organizational diagnosis and planning, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Relevant industry experience a plus.

Additional Information


Pay Range:
From $150,000 - $160,000 annually
