Overview:

OMNI is honored to be retained by Kansas City Public School Retirement System (KCPSRS) in the search for a Business Data Analyst. This highly specialist pension system role will work directly with retirees to ensure the integrity of employer data and activity within their account.

KCPSRS is designed to provide a significant and stable source of retirement, disability and survivor benefits for the employees of the Kansas City, Missouri School District; the Kansas City Public Library; the charter schools within the boundaries of the Kansas City Missouri School District; and the Retirement System.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with covered-employers to ensure the integrity of active member data and reconcile/troubleshoot discrepancies and past due contributions/payments.
  • Support retirement members and oversee the processes related to pension account refunds, withdrawals and rollovers
  • Communicates with covered-employers’ payroll departments or third-party contractors to ensure employer data integrity.
  • Manages tasks, documentation and data records associated with purchase of services in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Support active member inquiries with policies and procedures and prepare benefit estimates, as requested.
  • Perform annual audit of member accounts following interest rate accrual approval
  • Support actuarial reporting and the member statement review process.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders and the KCPSRS team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in defined benefits and/or defined contribution administration, or insurance industry.
  • Experience with pension systems, its operating procedures, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with actuarial theory and practices
  • Proficiency in office technology, including but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, other software, and peripheral office equipment.
  • Excellent human relations skills and ability to establish and maintain successful cooperative working relationships with KCPSRS staff, Board of Trustees, Members, as well as with stakeholders outside of the organization.
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and interpret data regarding salary, years of service, and purchase of service and draw sound conclusions.
  • Ability to understand and perform mathematical equations and find solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Experience presenting business results to stakeholders.
