What will I be doing?
As a Peer Support Specialist, you will be helping assigned clients.
You will be working on:
- Communication skills
- Individual Wellness Recovery
- Crisis intervention and treatment
- Case management activities
- Creating individual treatment plans based on individual needs
Am I a good fit?
In this position you will be travelling in the community to meet families where they are. A flexible schedule is important for this role and allows you to have control over your session planning. You will have significant documentation and travel, so good time management is a must!
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a mental health condition and/or substance use disorder, must be in recovery, must be open minded, and must be willing to share personal experiences with mental illness/substance use publicly.
- Must be a High School Graduate or have GED.
- Must have a valid driver’s license in state of employment with a safe driving record.
- Must have good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Must have successfully completed state specific Peer Specialist training and exam.
