MITRE’s Finance Business Services is seeking to hire Payroll Analyst to support our well-established Payroll team. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted business partner with internal customers. Focusing on providing timely, accurate and responsive services to employees and managers on matters relating to payroll.
The position will be hybrid and located in our Bedford office.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor TRS invalid projects and resolve before TRS closing.
- Maintain Garnishment process- review orders, enter into Workday and submit payments via bank (EFT) or Accounts Payable bi-weekly.
- Generate and analyze weekly tax reports from Workday to ensure employees are set up for the proper tax withholding. Contact and monitor employees as necessary.
- Oversee Fidelity participant eligibility file errors, monitor and fund biweekly contributions.
- Provide basic retirement plan guidance to employees.
- Prepare monthly payments to third party vendors (MetLife, Reliance..)
- Monthly Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reporting.
- Prepare biweekly and monthly EIB files for import into Workday for processing.
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll reconciliations (Workday to CostPoint)
- Oversee all time charges for military, jury, and administrative leaves. Communicate with employees as needed.
- Provide backup duties for GL reconciliations and journal entries.
- Prompt attention to employee calls and emails.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years payroll experience
- Workday Payroll experience preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience of multi-state payroll tax laws.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills: must be able to problem solve using strong analytical and creative thinking skills.
- Must work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Understand sensitivity and maintain confidentiality of all information they have access to.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Costpoint/Deltek Financials
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
