PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR Job at VIA Metropolitan Transit

Accountable for the technical and supervisory payroll functions of VIA involving time payroll processing for all pay groups, record keeping, recording of employee earnings, payroll deductions, reconciliation of payroll discrepancies and submission of reports. Requires initiative and independent judgment to analyze data or situations to determine solutions based on VIA policies and the working conditions agreement. Requires extensive experience working with payroll systems and timekeeping software. The Payroll Administrator assumes the responsibilities and duties of the Manager of Payroll in their absence. Responsible for complying with all VIA policies, procedures, and processes. Work is performed under general direction.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of payroll experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Prior experience with Payroll, ERP/HRIS, and time keeping systems required. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
