What We Are
We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving all those in need in the Sacramento area. We have been a level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home since 2011 and were the first to earn that designation in Sacramento. Integrated, comprehensive and supportive services to maximize health outcomes. The founding values of One Community Health were based on providing a safe and welcoming place for people who often experienced social exclusion and discrimination.

About the Position
This position serves as a resident expert in their area of support by providing an environment of good will and optimum services to patients and clients.
Essential Functions:
- Promptly and courteously provides the information and services requested by patient.
- Takes initiative to seek assistance from others; informs patient/clients of the need to do so; explains who is being called upon to help; and ensures that all patient/clients requests are addressed in a way which minimizes inconveniences of all parties.
- Maintain strict patient/clients confidentiality at all times.
- Verify and update patient demographic information and insurance information.
- Communicate appointment delays effectively with patients and providers; apprise patients of wait times, delays, etc.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and co-payment. (HMO's, PPO's, Managed Care)
- Create daily batch and collect co-pay, provide receipt, and obtain credit/debit card authorization as needed.
- Explain terms and conditions of services and financial responsibility
- Answers phones as needed.
Education/Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3 years previous medical secretarial/office experience required.
- AA degree preferred.
- Spanish speaking preferred.
