As an Optum employee, you will provide support to the Owensboro health account. They are a nonprofit system with over 200 providers at more than 20 locations, 3 outpatient facilities, a certified medical fitness facility, a surgical weight loss center and the Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center. This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday to Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 3:00pm – 11:30pm and every other weekend. Our office is located at Owensboro Regional Hospital- ER Dept 1201 Pleasant Valley Rd. Owensboro, KY 42303

Primary Responsibilities:

• Greet patients
• Coordinate patient flow to reduce wait times
• Assist patients with intake processes
• Collect co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles
• Process walk-in patients and visitors

The pace is fast, so your ability to multi-task is essential. You should also enjoy working with people and have the communication skills necessary to build strong relationships with our customers.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma / GED (or higher)
• Ability to work full-time, Monday - Friday between 3:00pm - 11:30pm and every other weekend including the flexibility to work occasional overtime given the business need
• Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ years of related work experience, including data entry
• Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology
• ICD 9 or 10 and CPT coding experience
