OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: The Staff Patient Advocate is responsible for providing confidential, compassionate care, faith based biblical counseling, to all patients for Coastline Women’s Center regarding sexual integrity, pregnancy education and options, affirming the sanctity of human life and sharing the hope and truth in Jesus Christ.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. A commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

2. Committed to all of Coastline Women’s Center policies, procedures, commitments, and mission.

3. Successfully completed Coastline Women’s Center volunteer training, and staff onboarding.

4. Possess a thorough understanding of pregnancy care center ministry, including experience in client counseling, follow-up, and support.

5. Dependable, stable, capable of following through on commitments, self-motivated.

6. Emotionally, spiritually healthy, able to handle hard cases, demanding schedules and cases.

7. Exhibit a teachable and compassionate spirit.

8. Possess good knowledge of human reproduction and conception, fetal development, abortion techniques and the ability to articulate and communicate education of such subjects.

9. Steadfastness, faithfulness, confidence in the Word of God with ability to speak its truth in love.

10. Ability to be nonjudgmental, discerning, and keep confidentiality.

11. Proficiency in both oral and written communications.

12. Exhibit high moral standards and personal integrity.

13. Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with other coworkers.

14. Education or experience in counseling, social work, or pregnancy care centers is preferred, but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To pray with staff and volunteers at the beginning of each shift.

2. To secure commitment of two Christians to serve as personal prayer partners over you.

3. To be confident and provide information and education (where appropriate in your position) to patients on a variety of topics including: pregnancy, parenting, adoption, sexual integrity, sexually transmitted diseases, and appropriate community referrals.

4. To follow the organization’s dress code.

5. To follow all the Center’s policies and procedures.

6. To look for teachable moments with patients in order to present truth about Jesus Christ and invite patients to believe in Him.

7. To walk though crisis with patients, continuing to extend compassion and truth to them through follow-up even after the initial contact in the Center.

8. To be committed to ongoing education taking advantages of workshops, in-services, and conferences that may grow you in your position.

9. To complete all documentation both written and computer inputting logging requirements before leaving shift.

10. To attend weekly staff meeting for team building.

11. To offer assistance in training other volunteers and employees when needed.

12. To assist in all opening and closing procedures when needed.

13. To assist and manage helpline as needed during work days.

14. To fulfill all other staff duties as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Able to physically navigate up and down stairs in and outside office.

Able to bend and lift using proper body mechanics.

This position will be fulfilling a 25–30-hour work week.
