We are looking for a Patient Access Representative to support multiple technical tasks needed to ensure patients are appropriately identified, registered and scheduled for their care needs. Full- and part-time positions available.

Responsibilities:

· Assist with scheduling patients and collect patient copays

· Collaborate with the Patient Flow Facilitators and Nursing Leadership to prioritize appropriate location of care, monitor bed occupancy within the hospital and maintain appropriate bed numbers based on nursing staff

· Ensures the appropriate utilization of placement to specialty nursing floors

· Support patient arrival for care, ensuring patients are identified and registered and that regulatory needs are met and maintained

· Manage the death process by completing an accurate Death Certificate Worksheet, placing a call to State Medical Examiner for Emergency Department deaths, monitoring and communicating with the New England Organ Bank for release or donation following Federal Law and Regulations and release patients to funeral directors per mass general laws

Qualifications:

· High school diploma; 2+ years of college preferred

· 1+ years of admitting experience

· Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and health insurance requirements

· Interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated skills in customer service
