Abbeville General Hospital is hiring for a PAP (Patient Access/Phlebotomist) Rad Clerk Aid: Full time PAP (Patient Access/Phlebotomist) for day shift 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
PAP (Patient Access/Phlebotomist) Rad Clerk Aid Position Summary:
PAP Rad Clerk Aid is responsible for supporting the technical and other clerical/support staff by accurately recording patient-related information and other data intot he electronic medical record or the manual medical record. Transport patients for any movement within the hospital to meet schedule as well as transport medical records.
PAP (Patient Access/Phlebotomist) Rad Clerk Aid Responsibilities:
- Accurately register hospital patients
- Accurate verification and documentation of insurance coverage
- Obtain pre-certifications/authorizations
- Validate medical necessity
- Answer questions and clearly explain polices
- Assist with scheduling and reminder calls
- Perform general specimen collection including blood, urine, and swabs for infectious diseases
PAP (Patient Access/Phlebotomist) Rad Clerk Aid Required Experience:
- Previous experience in hospital/clinic setting preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience required.
PAP (Patient Access/Phlebotomist) Rad Clerk Aid Educational Requirements:
- ·High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Phlebotomy certification or Medical Office Assistant certification (preferred)
- Current/Active CPR certification
PAP (Patient Access/Phlebotomist) Rad Clerk Aid Physical Requirements:
- Medium Work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor constitutes a maximum lift of 21-50 pounds on occasion and/or a maximum lift of 11-25 pounds on a frequent basis
- May be required to assist in the turning, lifting, or moving patients as well as walking about from patients’ rooms, as well as to and from various hospital areas
