Responsibilities
Pathologist Assistant - PRN Under the direct supervision of a Pathologist, performs gross examination, description, and sectioning of surgical specimens in a manner that meets professional standards and satisfies approved protocol requirements. Pathologist Assistant assists with or performs dissection and gross description of autopsies. Must have sufficient computer skills to accession specimens. Additional computer skills beyond this level would provide a valuable contribution. Photographs specimens and maintains photographic equipment. Responsible to the Laboratory Director of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
PRN = As Needed
Qualifications
Required Minimum Education: On-the-job training in a large healthcare facility, or Bachelor's or Masters Degree in certified Pathologist Assistant program.
Required Minimum Experience: Three years of broad experience as a Pathologist Assistant is preferred if on-the- job trained.
Required Minimum Licensure/Certification: Certification or eligible for certification by American Association of Pathologist Assistants (AAPA)
