Parts Counter Advisor
Holtsville, NY
Pay: $24-32/hr. (depending on prior relevant experience)- Bonus: 5% bonus potential

- This is a non-union, office based position requiring specialized technical / mechanical knowledge
Responsibilities
- Successfully provide solutions to customers' parts needs
- Researching and providing customers with correct part information by utilizing all available resources including inspecting worn, damaged, or defective part to determine customer need
- Selling parts to all fax-in, email in, call-in, and walk-in customers
- Advising customers about additional related parts and services available
- Maintaining communication with customers on open orders
- Communicating effectively to build strong, long term, trusting relationships with customers
- Discussing features and benefits of alternative solutions and offer those solutions to the customer (e.g., re-manufacturing, repair options, Allied)
- Promoting a one-stop-shop to customers
Qualifications
- 1 year parts counter experience or related mechanical/technical experience required
- Ability to multitask & be highly organized and competent in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Proficient in computer applications and software
Essential Physical Job Qualifications:
- Sitting for prolonged periods
- Hand coordination (typing and writing) and reaching
- Occasional standing and forward bending
- Occasional walking and climbing stairs
- Carrying (up to 20lbs.)
