Smith Boys of Chautauqua Inc., a privately-owned boat dealership and service facility on Chautauqua lake in Ashville, NY is looking for a part clerk to join our team. This position requires the applicant to be outgoing, friendly, detailed and able to succeed in a fast-paced environment. The ideal applicant should have knowledge of marine or automotive service department procedures and familiarity of boats and related marine products.

Smith Boys is a family owned, well established boat service and sales dealership. We sell Sea Ray boats, Crownline boats, Bayliner Boats, Berkshire Pontoon boats, Malibu and Axis Ski boats as well as a wide assortment of pre-owned boats.

Work Hours: During our boating season (spring/summer/early fall) 6 days a week. late fall and winter are reduced hours.

Responsibilities of the parts clerk:

• Respond to in-person, telephone and electronic mail requests from customers for service, warranty and other marine related issues.
• Open and close work orders for customer requested service
• Parts department stocking, ordering and inventory maintenance.
• Process customer requests for summer dock rental, winter storage and service.
• Process, submit and monitor manufacturer warranty claims.
• Process, monitor and coordinate manufacturer service bulletins and recall service directives.

Skills and Qualifications Desired:

• Knowledge of Windows based computers and software.
• Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Operation of general office equipment
• Multi-tasking (ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously)
• Prioritization, and the ability to adjust work as the need arises.
• Boats and marine environment knowledge would be very helpful.
• Knowledge of automotive or marine service department operations.

Salary:

This is a full-time position. The rate of pay is dependent upon the level of experience, education and knowledge the applicant has.
