Working under the guidance of the Microsoft Alliance Manager, the Partner Development Specialist (PDS) for Microsoft is primarily responsible for supporting Connection Account Managers by creating and driving exciting opportunities for learning, positioning, and selling Microsoft Services and Solutions to our customers . The PDS will collaborate with sales and marketing resources to plan and execute partner programs based on company initiatives.
- Plan sales activities that drive engagement with Account Managers
- Create incentives and contests that increase the Microsoft pipeline
- Host training for Account Managers to help them better understand Microsoft
- Create resources for sales (playbooks, email templates, flyers, and videos)
- Post content on internal and external social networks
- Write blogs to share relevant Microsoft information
- Stay up to date on industry and partner trends and news
- Solve problems using critical thinking skills
- Serve as the first point of contact for general sales inquiries and leads
- Work and network with internal stakeholders across departments and teams to build strong relationships
- Track and report on business pipeline and performance
- Navigate internal and external dashboards and portals
- Intermediate Microsoft skills including Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Quick study with the ability to master a situation or learn new things with minimum direction or training
- Articulate with the ability to express oneself clearly in writing, on video, or in person.
- Comfortable presenting to a group and doing product demonstrations
- Ability to collaborate in a hybrid working environment
- Adaptable with the ability to switch tasks based on shifting priorities
- Adept at analyzing data and making recommendations for business strategy
- Organized with ability to document activities, anticipate problems, plan schedules, and monitor performance according to priorities and deadlines
- Attention to detail in composing, keying, and proofing professional business materials
- Negotiation skills with the ability to secure the best purchasing agreement for customers and the company
- Adept at proactively finding business opportunities within the existing customer base
- Understanding inside sales strategies and upselling for upgrades and other add on products
- Adaptable with the ability to switch tasks based on shifting priorities
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with all levels of the organization
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
