Heavy part time sous chef position available at a private club in a new restaurant group. Pay TBD based on experience. Upscale casual dining available to our members every day. Other opportunities throughout the company. Must have reliable transportation, be able to work independently, and manage daily prep and cleaning lists. Responsible for assisting Executive Chef with menu changes and implementation, assist with special events and catering. Maintain cleanliness, standards of service, and quality expectations set by Executive Chef. Be able to write and manage prep lists, requisitions, and inventory. Help with ordering and stock rotation. This is a dynamic and engaging position and requires a food focused perspective and hands on approach. Potential for growth within company as there are several locations and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Help in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus
- Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
- Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
- Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
- Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Skills
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- culinary degree not necessary but definitely a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
