Dauphin County Human Services is currently accepting applications for the part-time position of Receptionist/Data Clerk at the Northern Dauphin Human Services Center, which is located at 295 State Drive in Elizabethville. The Part Time Receptionist/ Data Clerk is responsible for greeting guests, visitors and clients of the Northern Dauphin Human Services Center and providing clerical support for the Human Services Community Liaison/ Operations Manager.

The individual in this position is also responsible for but not limited to performing the following essential functions: answers the telephone and provides routine customer service for callers and directs callers to the appropriate individuals and services as needed; greets visitors and directs them to specific service areas within the Human Services Center; types letters, composes e-mails, and drafts reports, schedules and other documents as needed for various Dauphin County service agencies within the Human Services Center; processes incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting and distribution; operates various forms of office equipment including but not limited to: computers, copiers, telephone and fax; interacts with various Dauphin County agencies, external service providers and the public; facilitates the successful execution of community events by assisting with planning, preparing supplies and other resources, greeting the public and distributing information and materials related to Dauphin County Human Services; compiles and distributes data related to the Northern Dauphin Human Services as necessary; maintains required systems for managing forms, documents and records; assists individuals working as volunteers at the Northern Dauphin Human Services center by conducting orientations, demonstrating activities and reviewing procedures; maintains adequate supplies of resource materials; and performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Training Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, and some clerical or computer training or experience. No previous work experience required.
