WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Economist will work with the Executive Office of Immigration and Review (EOIR), a division of
the Department of Justice (DOJ). In this role the selected candidate will:
  • Develop cost-benefit and regulatory impact analysis for new regulations and immigration
policies.
  • Work alongside lawyers to develop new regulations and immigration policies, providing them with
the cost-benefit and regulatory impact analysis for new or updated policies.
  • Analyze current or near-term policy, program, and economic problems to recommend
solutions.
  • Write detailed technical analysis of assigned economic studies.
  • Provide documentation to defend economic study conclusions to the Government and interested
parties as directed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform cost-benefit and regulatory impact analysis, collect and analyze data, and apply
economic research and methods to federal regulations and policies as directed by the Government.
  • Review and analyze current or near-term policy, program, and budget-related economic problems to
recommend solutions.
  • Complete economic cost-benefit analysis in accordance with industry best practices. Work
products must be completed within an established timeframe as directed by the Government.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to design presentations and economic studies and
propose solutions to the Government on difficult-to-quantify impacts.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in conducting economic research, policy analysis, data
collection, and impact analysis.

WHAT MATTERS TO US:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics or related degree.
  • 5+ years previous work experience conducting cost-benefit analysis or analyzing new federal
regulations for economic impact; More experience can take the place of the educational
requirement.
  • Ability to work independently and have proven experience in cost-benefit analysis, as well as
independent research and literature review.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams
  • Must be highly organized self-starter and have excellent oral and written communication
skills
  • Must be able to obtain required security clearance
  • Knowledge of immigration policy is a plus

WHAT WILL MATTER TO YOU:
Muse Technologies offers its employees' salaries that are commensurate with their experience, and
that are market compatible. This position will have multiple duty locations in the Washington, DC
metropolitan commuting area. The employee will be expected to report to various work locations as
directed without additional compensation for travel. This is a part- time position that will work
up to 900 hours per year.
