Position Summary
Tovala is seeking a self-motivated, experienced videographer with an ability to create content that tells a story (And that story? It’s pretty delicious). You are as comfortable shooting as you are editing and proactive in sharing your perspective on how to create content that engages our customers. This role is perfect if you are eager to take on new challenges, help set the vision for our branded video content, and have an impact in a fast-moving, collaborative environment. This is a part-time contract position with the potential to become a full-time position in the future.

How you'll spend your time at Tovala
- Work with the creative team to bring stories to life that tell the story of our product and food offering
- Produce fresh, innovative, and quality work that translates complex ideas into compelling videos from concept and storyboarding to editing and post-production
- Shoot and edit a variety of video styles (product, lifestyle, interview, social media, digital series) both in the field and in office with existing material
- Meet with internal and external stakeholders to develop video concepts, storyboards, and scripts
- Collaborate with our creative, marketing, product and culinary teams to create a variety of compelling content to drive customer engagement, education and brand connection
- Provide counsel on the best way to achieve the vision and drive shoot plans to make it happen
- Drive all aspects of the technical, aesthetic, and production requirements of shoots
- Hold a high bar to ensure that final content consistent with brand style guides and is consistent throughout all digital channels
- Work with the creative team on project planning
- Deliver all assets accurately, on-time, and effectively communicate project status
About you
- 5+ years of professional experience with capture and editing
- Experience shooting product and food required; Understanding of food styling best practices and techniques is preferred
- A keen eye for composition and shooting techniques with an ability to tailor each to tell the desired story
- An understanding of when to ask second-order questions around creative briefs to identify potential roadblocks and/or strengthen quality
- Demonstrated ability to quickly think through the objective of a content asset and edit accordingly
- A desire to ever-improve, providing ongoing recommendations to simplify steps throughout workflow and improve quality of output
- Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
- Ability to self-prioritize your efforts and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of digital marketing platforms and ability to tailor compositions accordingly
- Familiarity with social media content trends and best practices; Able to leverage them to help drive engagement
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Strong work ethic with a “no task is too small” attitude
- Experience with motion graphic design and/or photography is a plus
- A digital portfolio of relevant work samples is required for consideration
