Parking Enforcement Officer – Village of Roslyn

Potential Start Date:-Late May- Early June 2023.

Job Details:

Salary: $20.00 per hour – NYS Pension and entitlement to New York State Health Insurance Program

with employee contribution of 20% of the cost of the healthcare premium (individual or family).

Dental Insurance.

Full Time Position: 40 hours a week; 11am – 9pm with 1 hour lunch break, Wed – Sat.

Availability to work additional hours may be required.

Special Requirements: Valid License to operate a motor vehicle in New York State with a current address and acceptable driving record. Must be able to pass a background and drug test.

Basic Function: Monitor designated streets, lots, other public areas and Village to ensure compliance with parking policies and code enforcement. Issue summons to violators of ordinances and laws relevant to parking in certain areas.

Job Description:

• Issue parking summonses to violators of ordinances and laws relevant to parking
• Assist maintenance staff with duties related to parking equipment and facility upkeep and maintenance.
• Assists in traffic and crowd control activities
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, deliveries.
• Provides information and other general assistance to the Public
• The position requires the ability to work alone and therefore must exercise proper judgment, tact and decorum in dealing with people

Qualifications:

• Valid NYS Driver’s License
• Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire
• Ability to operate a motorized vehicle
• Ability to understand and apply parking regulations
• Ability to interact with the Public in a courteous and tactful manner
• Ability to walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Knowledge of geography of the area is a plus
