Park Attendant Job at City Of Cocoa Beach
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Under general supervision, performs collection booth duties, public bathroom general upkeep and litter pick-up at Shepard Park & Fischer Park.
Hours/Shifts will vary based on staffing needs. Hours range between 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Park hours reduced in the Fall/Winter months. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists lead attendant performing daily maintenance on the automated entrance devices.
- Inspects parks grounds, picnic areas, parking lots, dune crossovers and restrooms to ensure that park is clean and there are no hazards for visitors.
- Collects parking fees from the park visitors during peak hours.
- Monitors Shepherd and Fischer parking areas to control and oversee parking of vehicles.
- Inspects and, as necessary, cleans bathroom and other guest facilities for two City parks.
- Submits all gate receipts and supporting documentation as required by standard operating procedures.
- Assists the public by giving directions or general information.
- Acts as courier for City money collected from parking machines.
- Performs some routine clerical duties such as issuing receipts and deriving reports.
$12.24 / hour
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Must have basic math skills including handling cash and reconciling daily deposits.

Valid Florida Driver’s license, Class E, with a clean driving record. Weekend work is required. Selected applicant will have background/credit check done.
