Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, a large international law firm, is seeking a Paralegal for the Office of the General Counsel in our Silicon Valley office. This position will be part of our team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff providing a high level of service to both internal and external clients. Under the supervision of the General Counsel, this position will provide support for all types of litigation matters. The paralegal will operate as part of a team of attorneys and support staff to provide a high level of service to both internal and external clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Organize, index, and oversee the maintenance of all file documents.
  • Initiate and maintain docketing within the Firm’s system and monitor calendars.
  • Draft pleadings and discovery documents.
  • Manage document production process including performing document production reviews, preparing outlines and exhibits; creating privilege logs and electronic discovery logs.
  • Review reports explaining the results of specific conflict searches, and highlighting areas of potential conflict.
  • Conduct legal (or other) research as requested, including Westlaw, Lexis/Nexis, Pacer, Shephardizing, and cite-checking.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Education, Certification, Licenses:

Required

  • Four-year degree or equivalent relevant work experience.

Skills and Abilities

Required:

  • High level of proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office Suite applications, Adobe Acrobat, Litigation Support Applications, Electronic Filing, Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw (and Dialog) and other internet research tools.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Respectful to other individuals working directly or indirectly with them.
  • Reliable and dependable team player.
  • Must be a good planner who is very detail-oriented and has the ability to organize and prioritize.
  • The candidate should be action and results-oriented.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Must have effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Work independently, taking the initiative to move projects to a conclusion.

Experience

Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a professional environment is preferred which includes progressive responsibility in managing litigation matters.
