The Experience

In today’s dynamic environment, it is an exciting time to be a part of the research and technology team at Colgate. Our highly technical and innovative team is dedicated to driving growth for Colgate Palmolive in this ever-changing landscape.

What role will you play as a member of the Colgate’s Packaging team?

As a Packaging Engineer, you will develop, test, engineer, and implement new, innovative packaging solutions, collaborating with R&D, Design, Marketing, Supply Chain and Manufacturing to meet the business requirements and support our brands.

Who are you

• 
  You are a developer
• Support the conceptualization, design, development/engineering and implementation of packaging projects for new packages, new processes, cost savings projects, and sustainability programs
• Design and test packaging systems and components to ensure defined needs for brand equity aesthetics, consumer acceptance, manufacturing capability, quality and cost are met.
• Coordinate packaging line trials to ensure performance for manufacturing. Attend component and manufacturing startups as needed to ensure accurate execution of design, function, and manufacturability.
• Complete package qualification plans, technology transfer documentation and final package component specifications, Bills of Materials, Manufacturing Specifications, and case/cube information

You connect the dots

• 
  Interpret package testing data to support the effective design, qualification, validation, and implementation of new package systems and technology.
• Prepare written and verbal technical summaries of packaging programs to communicate technology benefits, business impact, timeline, costs and risk.
• You are a collaborator -
• Partner with contract manufacturers and manufacturing facilities to ensure that packaging equipment/material system specifications, functionality and design are appropriate for use.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Marketing, Global Design & Packaging, Supply Chain and outside suppliers to identify package technologies that that help the company to achieve business targets (costs, consumer usage/functionality, sustainability, manufacturability and compatibility/functionality of materials with product)

• What you’ll need…(Required)
• Degree in Packaging Science or related degree

What you’ll need…(Preferred)

• Work Study program (internship/co op) focused on packaging engineering or packaging development

Salary Range $70,400 - $103,950 USD
