Education required: High school diploma or GED equivalent. . Education Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in a health or human service field. Experience Preferred: A minimum of one year working in community health, senior health, marketing, or enrollment for a public health, social service organization or health plan.
One year of MediCal, Medicare, managed health care eligibility or senior related sales. Working with the frail or elderly population is a plus. Certifications/Licenses: CA driver’s license with appropriate automobile insurance required. Must take and pass the State of California DHCS PACE and Medi-Cal Marketing Certification exam within 60 days of hire.
Verbal and Written Skills to Perform the Job: Must be able to communicate effectively and comfortably in public forums. Prepare concise and clear reports on marketing and outreach.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred. Technical Knowledge and Skills to Perform the Job: Good knowledge of Microsoft Word applications including Excel, Access and Power Point. Computer data entry, analysis and reporting experience is required. Knowledge of electronic health data systems including NextGen is preferred.
Competencies: Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity, work effectively with individuals of different cultures and socio-economic status; passion for service; self-starter and highly organized; ability to prioritize, and complete a large volume of work within strict time deadlines; provide prompt, efficient and responsive customer service.
Equipment Used: Computers, phones, personal vehicle, copy machines, fax machines, and other general office equipment. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: Busy Adult Day Health Center (ADHC) and clinic environment serving the frail elderly with medium to loud noise levels and controlled office temperatures. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs., stand and walk frequently indoors and outdoors; set-up/take down outreach equipment. Will be required to travel to other sites or other locations within San Diego county. Will be required to work some evenings and/or weekends.
Universal Requirements: Pre employment requirements include I-9, physical, positive background and reference check results, complete application, new hire orientation, pre employment PPDs. HIPAA/Compliance Maintain privacy of all patient, employee and volunteer information and access such information only on a need to know basis for business purposes.
Comply with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and security obligations. Report unethical, fraudulent or unlawful behavior or activity. OSHA Compliance Comply with all regulations and required schedules regarding OSHA training. PPD Compliance Required health screening to be performed annually. Policies and Procedures Compliance Responsible for following all SYHC Inc. policies and procedures. Meal Period Compliance (Non-exempt employees only.)
Punch out before 5 hours from the start of shift for meal periods. Sexual Harassment Training (Management employees only.) Comply with all regulations and required schedules regarding sexual harassment training.
