Outside Sales Representative Job at Peterson Caterpillar
Peterson Cat has a need for a Rental Consultant based at our North Bend, OR location. The primary purpose of this position is to increase Peterson Cat's equipment rental and sales revenue. The position is business to business field sales within a specific described territory.
JOB DUTIES
- Actively pursue new business and maintain/grow existing business within the described territory.
- Achieve Rental Sales Quota for Cat and Non-Cat Rental Equipment.
- Execute a minimum of 10-15 sales calls per day including:
- Office Sales
- Jobsite Sales and Consulting
- Phone Solicitation
- Open 6 new accounts per quarter.
- Develop and follow a call route strategy for maintaining and prospecting business within the given territory.
- Identify Key Accounts within the given territory and develop a strategy to capture that business..
- Identify and capture out of territory based transient business opportunities.
- Harvest and execute business opportunities provided through prospecting lead sources such as: Sales-Link, Dodge, Construct Connect DC and other Rental Sales Manager assigned sources.
- Assist and Manage full scope account activity including:
- Pricing Profiles
- Assist in collecting funds as needed
- Assist in building relationships with other Peterson divisions
- Assist in resolving customer disputes
- Establish and Maintain thorough CRM/Sales-Link records for all accounts and prospects:
- Keep sales call activities updated a daily basis no later than 9:00AM the following day
- Keep contact records of influencers and key contacts updated in CRM
- Create and follow calendar schedule based on PAR values set for assigned accounts
- Record a minimum of 10 Cat Rental Store.com portal presentations per month
- Follow up and process all CRM leads and opportunities in a timely manner
- Perform “on call” duties on a rotational scheduled basis.
- Actively engage in product training, meetings, sales development activities, customer and promotional events.
- Follow Peterson’s Safety Protocol and Policies.
- Maintain professional appearance and conduct as outlined in the Peterson Employee Handbook and specified by management.
- Maintain a clean and professional workspace including vehicle, office and shared spaces.
- Maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
- Follow and align with all of Peterson’s Core Values.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- No sales experience necessary; we will train the right person. Ideal candidate preferably comes from an industrial or commercial construction environment.
- Electronic literacy; having the ability to operate various programs, apps, and devices proficiently
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Pay: $36,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
