Outreach Archivist Job at The Coca-Cola Company
Position Overview:
Under the general direction of the Director, is responsible for managing the department’s efforts to connect associates, bottlers, agencies, partners and the general public with the Coca-Cola Company’s archival collections, resources and services.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding of best practices to maintain a welcoming and supportive environment for researchers while balancing appropriate care and handling of collection materials
- Understanding of unique risks and constraints when working with closed, private archival collections
- Ability to respond effectively, orally and in writing, to sophisticated research and reference questions in a timely and accurate manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle interactions with care and equanimity
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of associates, bottlers, agencies, partners, and researchers with varying levels of experience working with archival collections
- Demonstrated attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate records, managing tasks, and planning and organizing work to meet developing priorities
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and take initiative
- Creation and updating of brand histories, reference files, and topical articles for internal/external sites
- Fields, vets and processes rights and reproduction requests
- Tracks metrics quantifying the volume and audience demographics of reference/research services
- Coca-Cola Collectors Club liaison
- Performs related duties as required
- Supervises interns
- Colaborative team player
Education Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Archival Studies, Library Science, Museum Studies or related field
Related Work Experience:
- At least 5 years related experience in a corporate archives setting
