This position works within our Chris Kyle Patriots Hospital which offers military-specific care to first responders, service members, veterans and dependents at the Chris Kyle Patriots Hospital. The IPO Clinical Manager is a key member of the Northstar Behavioral Health Team who is responsible for providing direct and indirect client care by providing psychotherapeutic services to clients and families. The Clinical Manager will serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team, supporting the facility’s treatment program and philosophy. The IOP clinical manager will oversee clinical programming and provide oversight and leadership to clinicians, floor staff, and intake/UR. The clinical manager works closely with the Clinical Program Manager, Director of Clinical Services, Intake Leader and Nurse Leader to ensure effective implementation of services that meet regulatory statues and guidelines.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tracks clinical documentation to ensure all paperwork (admission, discharge, and weekly) is completed by required timelines and is in compliance with regulations. Reviews and co-signs clinical documentation on a weekly basis and provides feedback as needed for corrections that need to be addressed
- Audits treatment plans weekly, and provides supervision and training to therapists on how to improve treatment plans and ensure they are in compliance with regulations. Create outlines/guides as needed to facilitate trainings.
- Schedules assignments of all case at admission so new patients know who are therapists are and are assigned to the most appropriate clinician to meet their needs.
- Facilitates routine chart audits to ensure ongoing compliance with standards and regulations regarding required chart documentation
- Updates session schedule & caseload tracker according to admissions/discharges/ transitions and communicates to team members
- Assists with program development and facilitates training to clinicians, nurses regarding treatment modalities, policies, programming, precaution plans/statuses, etc.
- Attends and helps facilitate administrative and department meeting, unit staff meetings, clinical meetings, etc, and completes required CEU’s annually.
- Demonstrates a positive working relationship with all departments, unit staff, and treatment team members and facilitates immediate problem solving by providing pertinent information to various departments through use of verbal & electronic communication.
- Conducts evaluations of clinicians and floor staff as needed and required (initial, 90 day, annual) and implements counseling statements, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans as needed
- Provides input regarding the structure of Outpatient program (including coordinating daily schedules) and assists with the development of individualized special programs. Serves as a role model, support, and provides feedback to clinicians through supervision, guidance, modeling, and mentoring both individually and within the milieu environment
- Demonstrates effective time management, organizes work so that critical assignments may be completed promptly, accurately, and thoroughly.
- Understands FTE management and overtime management, maintains familiarity with financial information, and effectively manages departmental operations within financial guidelines.
- Establishes and maintains a good rapport with clinical providers, third party reviewers while maintaining an advocacy stance on behalf of the client; works to ensure any written materials requested by third party payers are provided in a timely manner within policy and HIPAA derived standards.
- Assure quality relationships with our referral sources, command, active duty providers, and VA system providers for patient continuity of care.
- Oversees and provides direction on all cases clinically and supports milieu in providing overall quality of care.
- Assures proper training for her/himself and that of the clinicians supervised to provide this specialty care with IOP.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, or related field.
- Alaska State Licensure (LCSW, LPA, LPC, LMFT)
- Two (2) years work experience in a mental health or psychiatric setting
- Qualified Addicition Professional (QAP) or Substance Use Disorder (SUD)
