Carlisle Construction Materials Incorporated, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology, has immediate openings as a Production Operator at its Lake City, FL location. The Production Operator position will be responsible to produce insulation boards to documented specifications. Tasks include operation of chemical laydown at the foam head, laminator, mold release systems, crosscut saw, gang saw, stacking robots, ring wrapper, hooder, and foot station. Other skills include the ability to operate electronic control systems, read gauges, meters, and tape measures, and basic computer skills.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Set up, operation and upkeep of equipment – saws, foam head, compounding equipment
• Operate and troubleshoot dust collection and robotic stacking equipment
• Monitor operation for deviations and communicate to appropriate personnel
• Ensure quality measurements (thickness, squareness, width and length) are within specification
• Assist as needed with all steps of the production process to ensure the safe and timely production of quality material
• Participate in the plant’s continuous improvement process
• Follow production schedules, job instructions, specifications and procedures
• Detect and/or correct and report faulty operations or defective materials
• Ensure safety compliance
• Other production responsibilities as needed and assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Math skills and capability to calculate square footage and batch sizes
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Able to:

• Understanding of basic math, reading, and writing skills

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• There is a repetitive use of hands required with simple grasping and pushing and pulling
• Temperature changes throughout the year (hot in summer months, cold in winter months)
• In addition, this position requires the following abilities: sitting, reaching, standing, balancing, walking including climbing up and down from the forklift, twisting (neck/waist), eye-hand coordination, driving, reaching above shoulders, bending, twisting, stooping, and crouching.
• Vision – able to judge your surroundings well enough to operate a forklift safely.

This position is in a warehouse-type facility subject to ambient and outside temperatures; exposure to loud machinery, dust, and mechanical parts. Work surfaces are primarily concrete, and operators will stand while performing their respective job functions. Business is cyclical and may require flexibility in the days of the week worked. Overtime will be required as needed.
