JOB DESCRIPTION:
WSI is currently seeking an Operations Manager who is ready to join our growing team. This position will manage service operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for WSI. Ensure safe and efficient operations. Serve as a company representative between operator and customer. Enhance the operational procedure, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting and looks for opportunities to expand systems. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with WSI's policies.
RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Manages and coordinates all activities for WSI’s divisions (Toilet, Grease & Roll Off) and works along the side of the Project Manager, Shop Manager, Toilet Route supervisors and Dispatch.
2. Works daily with Route Coordinator to manage WSI’s workflow by coordinate all services, routes, pickups, and deliveries to ensure the best routing efficiencies. Continually evaluating the most efficient workflow and all its requirements to meet customer expectations and assign staff as required to fulfill the schedule.
3. Managing each driver’s accountability through upholding efficient load out, daily departure from yard & daily return from field.
4. Analyzes and reports on operational activities, i.e., routing efficiency, weekly pickups vs. deliveries, labor and overtime, fuel, vehicle maintenance, inventory, quality of customer care and the like.
5. In conjunction with Project Manager, maintains the fleet proactively and cost-effectively by ensuring each driver is doing their daily pre/post DVIRs. Daily runs and reviews all paperwork from drivers including disposal manifests, P&D tickets, route sheets, DVIR’s, etc. for completion and accuracy and scheduling maintenance when necessary and routinely on WSI’s fleet as well as tracking and maintaining all license, registration, and inspections.
6. Reviews and approves t sheet clock in/out times prior to submitting for payroll processing. This includes the review and approval of WSI employee’s PTO request forms and schedules. Always keeping the WSI customer and WSI’s budget in mind. PTO based on operational necessity.
7. Responsible for fleet DOT administration including, logbooks and record maintenance (DQF’s), etc. Plus, scheduling employee appointments with Iowa DOT for upgraded licenses.
