Starting Salary: $51,532.00 per year ($24.6801 hourly) Step/Level: 312-01
Duties: Protects and serves the community and properties of the County and County Judicial areas and personnel. Performs patrol duties by responding to emergency dispatch calls, patrolling rural areas, ensuring buildings and residences are secure and assisting other departments as needed. Perform the Execution of the Notification of Emergency Detention, by a peace officer or Magistrate, for clients identified as meeting criteria and conduct mental health evaluations. Must be able to communicate with the courts/Judges/Supervisors/Dispatch. Be able to defuse/de-escalate situations with the public or inmates. Maintain safety and security of the inmates and the public areas of the Courts. Performs other duties by serving warrants, filing reports, maintaining education requirements, providing public relations functions for the community, and performing other duties as assigned. This position is not set to any specific shift or work schedule. The position may change shifts and or work hours from time to time to assist with the missions of the department and the position.
Requirements: TCOLE Peace Officer License required / TCOLE Licensed Jailer preferred. Minimum of twelve months of total service (to include other LE agencies)
