Job Summary
Watco is seeking a highly engaged individual to join their Operations Accounting Team in an Operations Accountant support role. The primary responsibility of this role will be partnering with the Operations Team on Income Statement/Key Metric focused analysis to ensure financial statement accuracy while providing beneficial information that can be used for decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a desire to go beyond general accountant job responsibilities and have key business knowledge with an entrepreneurial attitude that can add sustainable value to the business and the Operations Accounting Team. This position will have the ability to independently manage high-level team projects and expand their career through various unique opportunities.
Essential Job Duties and Functions
Act as a Business Partner for the Operations Team focusing on Income Statement accuracy and analysis and providing value-added guidance.- Key player in month/quarter/year-end closing processes (journal entries, financial statement review/analysis, etc.).
- Proactively communicate w/ internal customers to anticipate and solve problems.
- Involvement in the capital planning and day to day management of capital processes and procedures.
- Provide accurate and valuable reporting to the Operations and Leadership teams on both a monthly and ad hoc basis.
- Involvement in the annual budgeting process.
Desired Experience
0-1 years of experience in a business environment- Self-driven, motivated, and able to function independently as well as in a team
- Experienced in working in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
- High desire to learn new skills and be challenged
- Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
