The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for an open-rank faculty position in Computer Science (CS) starting in fall 2023. The position is open to candidates from all areas of CS, with preference given to those candidates with research and teaching focus in the area of Software Engineering. Successful candidates must have a record of high-quality scholarship and demonstrate the potential for excellence in both research and teaching. UTEP incorporates Inclusive Excellence in its operations and efforts to provide access to an exceptional education for all students. The University and the CS department greatly value diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA). The new hire must demonstrate a genuine commitment to DEIA. A record of engaging with interdisciplinary research and/or work experience in industry/government is a plus.
Job Requirements:
Candidates must hold a doctorate degree in CS or a closely related field by the time they are start and demonstrate excellence in both research and teaching commensurate to their experience. All candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, the potential to establish an externally-funded research program, and the motivation to support the student-oriented culture and commitment to DEIA of the department and UTEP.
