The One Alight Strategic Advisor applies broad enterprise application experience with deep domain knowledge to create compelling solutions that bring our value proposition to life and increase our win and retention rate. This is a pivotal role within the sales organizations that engages with our most complex, multi-tower deals way before the sales process begins and can cover the entire breadth of the Alight solution set while matching it to client business problems. This includes but is not limited to leading client conversations, qualifying opportunities and providing overall oversight into the design and client value proposition of the One Alight solution. One Alight Strategic Advisors work closely with Sales and Account Leaders to lead sales pursuits for Alight’s most strategic prospects and customers. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, consultative trusted advisor, and have a strong grasp of principles related to the overall employee experience and HR service delivery.

Responsibilities

The candidate must possess the necessary experience to bring three competencies together in one customer facing role:

  • Qualification – through understanding the breath of Alight capabilities, determine the client desire for change, client resources and budget to implement.
  • Solution design and architecture – vision how Alight’s solutions work together and integrate to solve business problems across our full solution and services portfolio with a focus on solutions across domains and expertise in all parts of the Alight business
  • Value – partner with the VE team to articulate business value and outcomes to customers and engage early to help move processes forward
  • Domain expert - domain expertise to position solutions in the context of business environment

The candidate must be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a software and services organization with an expanding customer base. They must be able to run a pre-sales sales cycle by orchestrating and collaborating with internal Alight solution consultants and product experts. Specific experience required for the role

  • This role supports sales as required to develop strategies to approach potential new clients
  • This role supports sales as required to help develop strategies to build pipeline
  • Deep understanding of industry drivers and trends, customer strategy and business objectives.
  • Ability to engage in value selling, understanding financial metrics, create business cases and value propositions leveraging the internal tools and processes
  • Understanding of business challenges and opportunities at the customer and able to identify business capabilities and architect solutions using the Alight portfolio.
  • Acts as an advocate for Alight solutions, technology, digital transformation, strategy, and vision.
  • Maintains up to date product and technical knowledge of the Alight portfolio of solutions and services relevant to the business and provides knowledge transfer to front line sales.
  • Maintains awareness of competitor and partner applications
  • Articulate the advantages of Cloud technology and Cloud economics
  • Establishes credibility with the customer through deep domain expertise
  • Gains trusted advisor status by understanding the customer’s business and co-developing strategies to gain tangible benefits of Alight solutions
  • Communicates directly and effectively with customers at all levels (C-Suite to line level managers)
  • Leads strategic/value-based discussions with a particular focus on client outcomes
  • Translates business needs into solution architecture requirements and coordinates across domain solution architects.
  • Architect and orchestrate large multi-product pursuits and helps bring together the Alight domains into a cohesive, client focused offer.
  • Performs critical thinking, extensive research and problem solving.

Sales Cycle

  • Participates in all aspects of the sales cycle and beyond to knowledge transfer for implementation.
  • Delivers strong POVs, “Why Buy” to customers.
  • Manages the functional coordination on multiple, high-priority and high-visibility deals
  • Focuses on long-term strategies that grow the size of deals
  • Designs, develops, and delivers solutions that solve a customer’s challenges working with the domain solution architects
  • Orchestrates communication between relevant SME’s on multi pillar opportunities (internally or externally with customers/partners)
  • Works closely with the sales teams on account planning and winning sales strategies
  • Assembles and leads a multi-discipline team that executes the win strategies and themes to include solution consulting and product experts
  • On deals, this role quarterbacks the response, coordinates across internal domains and functions, spells out the integration story and partners with the solutions team if new functionality is required or unique solutions need to be designed
  • Ensures information continuity between sales process end and implementation start.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of specific experience in business advisory or solution architecture or value engineering
  • 10+ years of general experience in combination of enterprise business software and/or management consulting experience. Knowledge of Alight products is not a pre-requisite.
  • Industry management or consulting / advisor experience to one of more industries
  • Preferred experience working with a large-scale multinational company
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills such as leadership, teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
  • Ability to work independently from a home office, on the road, or Alight office locations
  • Ability to travel up to 75% annually both domestic and international
  • Based in the continental US.
