ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for lubrication and routine maintenance of assigned equipment including performing pre-job inspections.

• Perform pre-job inspections of deck ensuring there are no hazards
• Perform maintenance on equipment, cranes, and other machinery
• Oversees the process of drafting barges
• Ensures the safe and productive operations of the deck crew (not responsible for administering discipline process for any other employees)
• Work as a lead man, instructing and assisting the crew on deck during transloading operations
• Operate winches
• Ensure proper housekeeping standards
• Clean excess oil/grease from equipment and work area
• Maintains lubrication schedule and records
• Perform all duties of a deckhand
• Report ALL incidents through company’s reporting protocol
• Completes daily inspection reports and forwards to maintenance personnel as required
• Support company safety initiatives
• Demonstration of knowledge of all required competencies
• Perform other duties as required

SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to read/write/communicate in English
• Able to use basic math skills
• Basic computer skills
• Must be able to follow directions
• Must be able to work rotational shift work
• Able to safely lubricate, perform routine maintenance/ minor repairs, and operate assigned equipment
• Be physically fit to perform all essential physical demands of this job safely.
