The Jericho School for Children with Autism, a non-profit school dedicated to providing quality educational and clinical services for families that have children on the autism spectrum is seeking an Office Manager to become a part of our administrative team and to coordinate and oversee the office and business operations of the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
· Communications: Answer phones, talk to parents, check mail, voicemail and emails.
· Management of Supplies: Order appropriate supplies and materials for the school and clinic.
· Record Keeping: Student and Employee records, business and financial records among others.
· Employee Resources: Employee forms, background checks, benefits and payroll administration.
· Vendor Relations: Work with accountant, consultants and other third parties.
· School Administration: Manage student tuition and scholarship functions, enrollment agreements and compliance with the Department of Education.
· Organization Management: Oversee appropriate health and fire inspections, 501(c)3 and tax exempt records.
· Financial Reconciliation: 990 records, budget and cash flow statements, deposits and check register, accounts payable/receivable and back reconciliation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 3+ years of proven administrative experience in a similar position.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Must be detail oriented and well organized with effective time management skills.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Windows systems, Quickbooks and solid Word/Excel skills.
· Highest levels of honesty, integrity, responsibility, and professionalism.
· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
· Ability to multi-task and maintain an attention to detail.
· Is thoughtful about interacting with people from all backgrounds.
· Experienced, with previous employment at a school, a non-profit organization, or a similar agency that involved helping manage successful day to day operations.
· A friendly, compassionate, and patient person who enjoys being around children in a school environment.
