Our agency is looking to fill a full-time, permanent Office Assistant (OA3) vacancy within the Community Corrections Division. This position works for the Marysville Field Unit 220 located at 1801 Grove Street, Marysville, WA 98270.

Under general supervision from the Secretary Supervisor, this position provides general office support to the Community Corrections Supervisor and Community Corrections Officers within the field office. This position directly interacts with staff, clients/customers, and stakeholders and supports office staff.

Reintegration Reimagined: DOC Launches New Community Corrections Model .
iCoach (individualized, community-oriented, accountability, collaborative help) launched on March 10, 2023. This new model is backed by the most recent science and is driven by two philosophies: Community Reintegration and Enhanced Supervision. iCoach provides more support and advocacy for those within the criminal justice system earlier in their reentry process.

Amend: Changing Correctional Culture
DOC’s partnership with Amend works to bring a health-focused approach to providing correctional staff with additional tools and resources with an emphasis on staff wellness while working to prepare incarcerated individuals and residents to become better neighbors when they return to society.

Duties

  • Provide reception and clerical support for the unit.
    • Greet/refer visitors to appropriate staff and respond to inquiries requiring knowledge of DOC policies and procedures.
    • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence.
    • Order, receive, and maintain office equipment and supplies.
  • Retrieve, prepare and process court reports and documents.
  • Database entry and retrieval from various systems and software which includes OMNI (Offender Management Network Information), OnBase, ICOTS, JABS, Odyssey and Excel.
  • Manage files and documents, including archiving records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months of clerical and/or customer service experience.
  • And a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:
  • Ability to assist individuals with various criminal backgrounds.
  • Basic level of proficiency and knowledge in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to navigate internal databases.
  • Ability to proofread written material, identify and correct errors in sentence structure, grammar and punctuation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly to staff, offenders, public and stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Must respect and maintain confidentiality.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of clerical experience to include basic level proficiency and knowledge in Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
