Summary/Objective - Provide occupational therapy, sensory integration and feeding therapy to include evaluation services to children of varying diagnoses, ranging in age from 0 months to 21 years, in an outpatient setting, face-to-face and/or via telehealth, with parent(s) directly involved in all treatment sessions, using a child-parent centered, intervention-coaching model.

General Duties

  • Responsible for providing Occupational therapy services to assigned clients at a minimum of 27 therapy visits per week
  • Responsible for performing initial evaluations and re-evaluations on assigned clients within designated time frame
  • Responsible for completing all required documentation for each and every visit in a timely fashion, as noted below:
  • *Progress Notes for each therapy sessions will be completed within 3 days of visit*Evaluation Reports for each assessment will be completed within 1 week of visit
  • Responsible for scheduling clients for evaluation and treatment sessions
  • Responsible for maintaining schedule on ClinicSource
  • Responsible for parent training and provision of homework/home program concurrent with therapy
  • Responsible for attending all required department and General Staff meetings
  • Responsible for competencies, licensure and membership in professional associations, when required

Supervisory Responsibility - May supervise/mentor a OT student on occasion, or when assigned. Responsible for coordinating student clearance with PdN Children’s before beginning internship; communicating with student’s program supervisor on an as-needed basis; and rating student according to program guidelines at end of internship.

Required Education and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Arts or Science from accredited college or university
  • Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners License.
  • Child/Infant CPR and First Aid.
  • Ability to effectively work with others in a cooperative manner.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience training/educating parents
  • Knowledge of typical/atypical child development
  • Experience in providing sensory therapy for children with feeding difficulties
  • Competent in providing presentations to families, staff and in other community settings
  • Experience working with children diagnosed with or suspected of ASD

Work Environment - The work environment is primarily face-to-face services at PdN Children’s in an outpatient clinical setting, but may also include the child’s home or natural environment via telehealth services. Provision of telehealth services is contingent on approval by program director and/or funding source.

Must be able to work effectively with coworkers, clients, and collateral parties in a cooperative manner. Must be able to work effectively with both the client and parent(s) concurrently, using a child-parent centered, intervention-coaching model.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $74,880.00 - $79,463.25 per year
