Position in this function will lead the organization towards successful and continuous improvement through risk management, prevention and promotion of workers' health and safety. This will include the development of a comprehensive health and safety management system in accordance with organizational plans, compliance and adherence to legislation and agreed regulatory bodies requirements, including the roll out of programs containing H&S policies and procedures.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate the implementation and development of epidemiological surveillance systems for employees according to the results of health conditions and absenteeism due to clinical causes

  • Generate strategies that directly seek to reduce the economic impacts derived from absenteeism and accident rates

  • Identify, foresee, and seek strategies to mitigate the risks of the processes associated with the company's mission

  • Ensure compliance also of third parties involved, such as suppliers and contractors through Contractor Management systems and all that this entails, from their selection to the final evaluation of the supplier

  • Ensure the availability of competent personnel to lead and control the development of occupational health and safety

  • Guarantee the creation, management and training for H&S joint committees, emergency brigades and work coexistence committees per Company policy and local legislation

  • To guarantee an induction and training program for workers who join the company, regardless of their form of hiring and linkage

  • Guarantee a training program in accordance with the specific needs detected in the identification of hazards, evaluation, and risk assessment

  • Ensure timely information on occupational health and safety management and communication channels to collect information from workers

  • Adopt measures that lead to the participation of all workers in the OSHMS (Occupational Health and Safety Management System)

  • Submit for consideration of the Management of the area, modifications to the policies, regulations or objectives of the Occupational Health and Safety System, according to the accountability reports and the results of the indicators

  • Report all accidents and occupational diseases diagnosed according to local legislation and Company policy. Likewise, report as required by law and Company policy the serious and fatal accident, as well as the illnesses diagnosed as occupational

  • Conduct safety audits and create awareness among employees regarding safety obligations


**ENGLISH PROFICIENCY ASSESSMENT WILL BE REQUIRED AFTER APPLICATION**

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher degree completed

  • 4+ years of experience implementing Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, development of occupational risk prevention activities and their execution in the workplace

  • Avability to travel 20%

  • Bilingual Proficiency (Spanish and English)


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master’s degree

  • Current OSHA License/Certification

  • Knowledge in internal audits (ISO 45001)

  • Management Systems Clear knowledge of the PHDCA cycle and the items applicable to each one of them
