Set on a 36-acre campus in Commack, NY, the Gurwin Healthcare System includes the 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, memory care, respiratory and ventilator care, palliative and hospice care, social and medical adult day programs, and on-site dialysis. We are currently seeking a full-time, experienced, Licensed Nursing Home Administrator for the 460-bed Gurwin Center. Candidate must be innovative, creative, dynamic, and strategic to continue our reputation of providing the gold standard of excellence in resident care.
PRINCIPLE FUNCTION: Administrate the managerial function and activities of assigned departments/areas of responsibility. Assist the President and CEO and the Sr. Vice President/COO in the operation of the Center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a current New York State LNHA license in good standing.
- 5+ years working as an LNHA in a long-term care facility.
- Effective leadership and management skills.
- MHA/MBA/MS in healthcare administration or equivalent.
- Experience in quality and performance management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have regulatory knowledge and experience.
- Ability to relate professionally and work cooperatively with residents and staff at all levels.
- Knowledge of Jewish customs and traditions a plus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administration, management, supervision and coordination of all assigned departments to ensure quality care.
- Monitor and maintain facility’s compliance with all pertinent State and Federal regulations.
- Consult with and advise on problems related to the operation of the Center.
- Recommend changes in policies to carry out objectives of the Center more effectively.
- Assure that all personnel, residents, visitors, and the general public follow established policies and procedures.
- Oversight of the facility Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program.
- Manage Corporate Compliance Program.
- Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional growth and development by keeping abreast of the latest trends in long-term care.
- Evaluate the performance of Department Heads to provide for professional growth and development and to maximize contributions towards established goals.
- Participate in Center committee meetings as required.
- Attend and serve on professional/civic service organizations as Center representative.
- Meet with members of the community as required to promote good relations.
