We, at the Capitol Region Mental Health Center (CRMHC) are currently recruiting for a Nurse Clinician (PCN 112028), to work with our Outpatient Team B. The role is located at our facility at 500 Vine Street in Hartford. This position is first shift, full time, 40 hours per week. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

- Be a member of a large, inner-city, outpatient, and multidisciplinary clinical team
- Serve people who are struggling with severe and persistent mental illness, substance use and chronic medical issues, as well as the sequelae of poverty
- Carry a caseload and provide individual and group psychotherapy
- Conduct clinical intakes, and psychosocial and nursing assessments taking into account historical and current symptomatology, family history, substance use, medical, diet and wellness concerns, and trauma history
- Conduct family therapy, provide triage and crisis intervention as well as medication and general health psychoeducation
We use a team approach to provide comprehensive, intensive and continuous services to clients who have been resistant to traditional forms of treatment, are unable to maintain themselves in the community without support, and tend toward high utilization of inpatient services. These are interdisciplinary teams which include psychiatrists, licensed clinicians, psychotherapists, community support specialists, and employment specialists.

2. Master's degree in nursing may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing comprehensive client centered recovery plans in collaboration with a team of behavioral health professionals
- Experience working on an outpatient team providing education, counseling, medication administration, and documentation of treatment progress made by clients living in a community setting with behavioral health and substance abuse disorders
- Experience with clients who have mental health, substance use and primary health care issues
- Experience traveling to meet clients in their homes or other community based sites
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
2. Incumbents in this class may be required to travel.
3. Incumbents in this class may be required to possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
4. Within the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, incumbents in this class who write medications must have a current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse issued by the Department of Health.
