Position Title

Inova Health System is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Cardiology Physicians Services team supporting our Springfield, VA location. This role is {Specific shift/schedule} full-time, Monday-Friday Day Shift. This position is eligible for Sign on Bonus of up to $15,000 ($10,000 for those with less than 2 years of experience).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Nuclear Medicine principles/theory, anatomy and pathology processes by utilizing the most appropriate technique and/or positioning for optimal examinations.
• Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history/informed consent, explain procedures in order to assist the physician in optimizing the performance and interpretation of the examination.
• Performing a variety of examinations by using standard department protocols, and proper technique for injection of radiopharmaceuticals under the American College of Radiology guidelines.
• Demonstrates the effective use of radiation protection procedures with shielding, collimation devices and protective shielding per supervisor observation. Maintains exposure reading within the ALARA limits.

Requirements:

• Experience in a hospital/health environment as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Student
• AAS degree and graduate of an accredited school/program of Nuclear Medicine Technology
• ARRT – N or CNMT to be obtained within one year of hire date
• Must possess a state Nuclear Medicine Tech license if it is required (if employed at an Inova free standing Imaging Center not affiliated with one of Inova’s Hospitals)
• BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association
• Basic computer skills and effective verbal communication/interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to multitask and make clinical decisions to facilitate patient care.
