Radiology Associates of Venice and Englewood is currently accepting applications for an MRI Technologist. We are a very busy imaging practice with three locations: Sarasota, Venice, and Englewood. Compensation depends on experience.

This is a PRN position. Hours will fluctuate, but will between the days and hours of: M-F, 8:00am – 5:00pm.

• Performs procedures in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner.
• Prepares and positions patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner in accordance with established operating procedures.
• Conducts pre-examination and evaluation and documents all pertinent patient information prior to exam, i.e., patient history.
• Maintains effective communication with patient; Provides explanation of procedures.
• Proactively communicates with radiologists regarding any unusual clinical findings or history.
• Demonstrates use of interdisciplinary team approach to patient care; Collaborates and confers with radiologists, colleagues, and other members of the healthcare team as appropriate.

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:

• ARRT (R) or ARRT-CT Certification (Required)
• A valid BLS/CPR certificate (Required)
• NMTCB (Required)

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Start I.V.’s and inject radiopharmaceuticals.
• Perform quality control on cameras and hot lab instruments.
• Radiation safety procedures and record keeping.
• Assist with maintaining accreditation and following guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervising manager.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Skill in intravenous puncture skills.
• Understanding of radiation protection and A.L.A.R.A. principles.
• Ability to critique image quality, troubleshoot technical issues and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Skill in attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to communicate clearly with co-workers and patients.
• Ability to behave in a manner that exemplifies respect for others and the spirit of teamwork.
• Ability to use methods of protection from chemical, radiation, and bio-hazardous materials
