JSL is seeking an amazing Network Engineer that possesses expertise with testing and installation procedures to support shipboard networking hardware installations or troubleshooting efforts. Perform technical enhancements which include installation and configuration of network hardware. Provide engineering support to troubleshoot shipboard networking hardware issues via shipboard and/or distance support. Resolve logistics obsolescence cases. Perform engineering analysis of networking hardware. Write technical documentation in support of networking hardware. Perform shipboard support for network hardware grooms. Troubleshoot network hardware issues. Provide installation services to resolve issues or to upgrade network hardware systems and provide source material for engineering change documents and installation procedures. Support engineering investigations or testing.

5-10% travel is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in the technology industry with emphasis on a blend of IP networking (LAN and WAN) and Unified Communications knowledge and skills
• Experience with VMware Virtualization software technology, Windows 7/10, Windows Server 2008 R2, Red Hat Linux, Red Hawk Linux
• Experience with Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) and Host Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS) to support enhancing the security posture of the network primarily and data loss prevention (DLP) policies
• Working knowledge of STIGs, IAVAM's, ACAS and WSUS
• Ability to effectively communicate both in written form and verbally on technical efforts related to support efforts being provided
• General knowledge of DoD organization
• Administration experience with basic computing skills such as Microsoft Office Suite
• Organization and prioritization skillset
• Knowledge of shipboard networking-related interfaces
• May be responsible for the supervision of engineers and/or technicians
• Conduct System Operational Verification Testing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in technical writing
• Experience in developing potential solution matrices to complex CS issues with associated risk analysis.
• Advanced understanding of Engineering processes
• Engineering Degree desired in the specific engineering field and/or a minimum of three years of Network Engineering Support
• Industry certifications are highly desirable and could include CISSP, RHCSA, MSCE: Security, MCITP: Enterprise Admin, ITIL V3, , and Security+
• Valid U.S. Government Secret Clearance
