Network Engineer I

Position Summary:

We are seeking a full-time, regular Network Engineer to join our talented, dynamic team supporting our customers. The selected candidate will be working on government systems. Responsibilities include operation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting across various network and related computer systems as well as data dissemination to internal subsystems and external networks.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience with the following:

• Configuring and operating:

• Cisco and other vendor Managed Switches
• Firewall and Router experience is a plus.
• Experience in VPN Solutions is a plus.
• Experience in hardening of switches is a plus.

• Basic understanding in the theory and operation of a wide variety of protocols and technologies

• Test and evaluation of new equipment for implementation into baseline configurations
• Troubleshoot network systems to identify and resolve issues
• Ability to follow test reports and procedures
• Ability to use enterprise network monitoring tools
• Ability to use system and network Visio diagrams

• Organize work schedule and attend meetings
• Experience working on enterprise networks
• Attention to detail in all work-related aspects

Supporting Work Responsibilities:

• Review engineering specifications and design documents

• Provide support to customer and staff to duplicate and document hardware/software anomalies.
• Support engineering efforts with testing of prototype systems and pre-released software.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Work Environment:

• Working on Government/Military and contractor facilities.
• Travel may be required both inside and outside the U.S
• Job location is remote and at multiple locations across the US.
• Work individually and as part of a team.
• Work may include considerable kneeling, walking, and standing.

• Work may include outdoor activities in austere environments.
• Work may include activities at elevated heights above ground, such as using an arial lift.

Qualifications:

• One year of networking experience.

• Required certifications: CompTIA A+, Security+
• Additional certifications a plus: Network+, CCNA
• Related military training and/or job experience is a plus
• Candidate will be required to attend training and become certified on the surveillance asset
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
• General working knowledge of PC computers and computer systems to enable the effective execution of systems activities.

• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
