Network Director of Pain Medicine Job at Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians
The Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine seeks applicants for the position of Network Director of Pain Medicine. The ideal candidate is a nationally respected clinician and researcher, who will lead the division to further success. Working closely with the department chair and the network hospitals, s/he will develop a vision and strategic plan for Pain Medicine to better position the department for international prominence. This position will lead the Pain Medicine Division, providing direct care, supervision and teaching for a wide variety of cases, and will guide our pain medicine divisions in the community.
The BIDMC Pain Network consists of the William Arnold - Carol A. Warfield Pain Center and additional sites located around Boston, including the Chestnut Hill Square facility, Chelsea, BID-Milton, BID-Needham, BID-Plymouth, and the New England Baptist Hospital. We also support an important collaboration with BIDMC’s neurosurgery and orthopedic spine surgery groups. As Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) has expanded into the community, we have added several new specialists, including our clinical staff of anesthesiologists, neurologists, physiatrists, pain psychologists, and nurse practitioners. We work closely with primary care physicians to ensure we address their concerns about their patients, including opioid consultations. Together, our providers seek to offer every patient compassionate, comprehensive, cutting-edge care tailored to their individual needs.
The Director will oversee and drive the academic mission, including research and education. The division has a history of bench, translational and clinical research in headache and pain medicine. Research at BIDMC is also supported by significant infrastructure, including the Center for Anesthesia Research (CARE). The Arnold-Warfield Pain Center is the primary site for Pain Medicine education at BIDMC. The center supports the education and training for our top-notch Pain fellowship and residency programs and collaborates with Boston Children’s Hospital for additional training.
