Network Administrator II

Under the general supervision of the Network Supervisor, is responsible for management and administration of the Hospital's critical systems and infrastructure. This position will support the Windows Server environment as well as the network infrastructure (wired and wireless), backup and firewall technologies and works closely with other members of the IT team to ensure priorities and goals are met.
Responsibilities
Effective Communication
1 Demonstrates tact and customer service in all interactions. This includes effective listening techniques, building consensus and handling alternate points of view. Service is provided to customers and co-workers.
2 Advocates for teamwork. Collaborates well with team members to produce more effective/innovative solutions and coach newer staff to promote culture of teamwork.
3 Participate on intra- and inter-departmental project teams as a technology resource. Interact with departments/teams to assist in the planning and the setting of priorities for implementation and modification of systems.
4 Champion and advocate for Process Improvement activities
5 Stay current on Organizational and Departmental communications
Support of the network infrastructure; includes support for wired and wireless networks for the main Hospital campus and offsite facilities.
1 Installing and configuring network equipment to update and fix hardware or software issues
2 Updating virus protection software to keep data and communications protected
3 Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks
4 Ability to program and manage the switches, VPNs, VoIP, firewalls
5 Make improvements to manage the physical assets in our networking closets and data center.
6 Communicating networking issues to staff and management
IT resource responsible for assisting in the design, implementation and support of the IT Server infrastructure at Huggins Hospital
1 Support IT resource responsible for the design, implementation and support of the IT infrastructure at Huggins Hospital. Administer and support the systems and network infrastructure including, but not limited to: Windows Server 2016, Exchange 2012, SQL 2016, VMware, Cisco, Avaya.
2 Manage projects for department specific software/connectivity/access
3 Document system structure, performance, process and system changes
4 Administer, maintain and implement policies and procedures related to the server and server technology infrastructure
Security
1 Support incident response resource within the IT team as needed
2 Actively participate in the identification and resolution of the Security Action plan items that result from ongoing Risk Assessments
3 Manage IT protective technologies, such as; Vipre, Sophos, Barracuda, Zix
4 Manage security requirements for vendors/department specific software

Qualifications*
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science. Minimum of five years networking hands-on experience will be considered as well with successful completion of some computer/networking classes.
Experience: 5-7 years of networking and/or system administrator support
