National HR Director Job at WHC Worldwide | zTrip
Seeking a HR & DOT Manager to provide expert Human Resources guidance to the zTrip staff. Additionally, to serve as a liaison to the WHC HR Department.
The zTrip HR & DOT Manager position oversees employee recruiting, new-hire processing, and employee relations while working congruently with zTrip HR department. This position also works congruently with the Safety Director and leadership in maintaining compliance with company policies, local, state and federal regulations. Critical to the position is ensuring integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of processing personnel and DOT information for the pipeline division.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Models, leads, and advocates the Companies’ core values; seeks ways to integrate values in business dealings and strategies; protects the company’s reputation.
- Ensure compliance with Labor Laws.
- Initiates applicant process for Drivers, Operators, and Laborers screening qualifications and experience.
- Responsible for recruitment through onboarding including qualifications for FTA, DOT and OSHA.
- Back up contact for Drug & Alcohol testing and compliance; and invoicing.
- Responsible for scheduling DOT Driver Health Exams (pre-employment and re-certification).
- Schedules and makes notification of quarterly D&A requirements and maintains a secure database.
- Back up for DOT driver files and updating for compliance of FTA rules and regulations.
- Prepares and maintains employee files in accordance with FMLA, Workers Comp, EEOC, ADA, ETC.
- Conducts employee background verifications, PSP, MVR and I-9 verifications.
- Keeps employee records and databases up to date by processing employee status changes timely.
- Maintains a current listing of applicants and positions.
- Processes personnel action forms and ensures proper approvals.
- Draft and implements HR policies as needed.
- Liaison between field employees and corporate office.
- Presents employee training on policies and new hire orientations.
- Coordinates with HR Department on all HR related issues.
- Assists with annual Open Enrollment, and benefits fairs.
- Completes projects and special assignments by establishing clear objectives and priorities; managing time; gaining cooperation of others; monitoring progress and making adjustments as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or business preferred.
- Previous DOT experience highly preferred.
- Two to three (2-3) years of relevant experience in human resources, DOT, clerical experience.
- Proven ability to understand and process Human Resources and DOT personnel actions.
- Demonstrate problem solving and negotiation skills
- Excellent written, verbal communication and time management skills
- Ability to build effective relationships and communicate well with others.
- Self-motivated capable of excelling in a team environment
- Extensive knowledge of navigating computer software, computer hardware and servers.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $82,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
