Primary Function
This position will be responsible for supporting sales and account management operations for the Lowe’s and Lowe’s Pro Supply accounts. This include managing product setup, pricing, and marketing data as well as analyzing retail purchases, customer sales, inventory, warranty and other data in order to extract information. This will require providing appropriate and necessary reports / information to improve business performance. To accomplish these requirements, this role will work directly and/or indirectly with multiple functional areas both internally and externally.
Responsibilities
- Interact with retail sales and supporting functional areas as well as with external customer merchandising to analyze sales by SKU/Location in order to identify opportunities to increase market share through improved product assortment and inventory stocking levels.
- Coordinate new product setup activities internally and with the customer - providing initial forecasts, reserving and communicating item numbers, submitting customer-required item setup and marketing content, participating in launch meetings, etc.
- Gain working knowledge of key customer data (specifically Lowe’s Gateway, IMA, and VPP) and develop processes to effectively extract information from the data.
- Manage product transitions internally and with the customer to eliminate obsolete inventory, minimize supply interruptions, and ensure seamless order processing.
- Review, research and respond to Lowe’s merchandising team regarding store/item level stocking (SPA) requests.
- Respond to store specific requests for direct/jobsite purchases and deliveries.
- Ensure timely distribution of reporting associated with responsible accounts
- Coordinate sales forecasting for responsible accounts
- Maintain all SAP and other system-related data tables in order to optimize OTC processes - including CMIR, material determination, ZR Partnership, RDC/Work order, reserved PO numbers, etc.
- Provide valuable data-driven insights in order to strengthen long-term customer partnerships
- Work closely with customer service teams in tracking / identifying drivers for incoming call activity to serve as an early warning indicator for potential quality or manufacturing issues
- Utilize analytical tools to mine competitive market data
- Support warranty reduction initiatives
- Assist in delivering training to customer associates
- Participate in customer events
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Business or other analytically focused field
- Minimum 5+ years of sales support experience preferably with big box retail
- Well-developed analytical skills
- Excellent verbal / written communication skills
- Aptitude to quickly become a power-user of existing and future reporting/analytical tools
- Basic product knowledge of current A.O. Smith offerings
- Highly organized with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proactive with ability to take on leadership role within a team environment
