Aluminum Castings Company, a small manufacturer located in Galesburg, is looking to fill various positions in a workshop environment.
Mold Operator
Setup, operate and maintain molding machine/equipment. A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards.
Responsibilities include -
- Setup up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
- Use compressed air to remove any loose sand
- Setting cores and filters into molds
- Change out tooling for jobs
- Fix issues that might occur during the shift
- Keep records of production/activity logs
Sand Core Operators
Setup, operate and maintain core machine/equipment. A great core operator has great attention to detail and is reliable.
Responsibilities include -
- Setup up core machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. temperature)
- Use compressed air to remove any loose sand
- Change out core boxes for jobs
- Fix issues that might occur during the shift
- Keep records of production/activity logs
Metal pourers
Pour molten aluminum into sand molds - either independently or as a team. A great metal pourer has strong upper body strength and a steady hand. Safety is our priority, so following proper safety procedures and utilizing safety equipment is required.
Responsibilities include -
- Basic operation of melting equipment, de-gasing equipment, hand tools, and general manufacturing equipment
- Prepare metal for pouring
- Handle molten aluminum safely
- Work independently or as a team to pour metal into casting molds
- Read and follow instruction sheets
- Adherence to all company standards of conduct including safety standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Maintain records of pouring production
General Labor
Reporting to and performing tasks as assigned by department supervisor. Job duties will vary by department but usually involve grinding and cleaning imperfections in castings.
Skills -
Strong attendance is a must. Currently working four days a week - Monday - Thursday, 10 hour days - depending on workload, shift and department, occasional Fridays. Employees must be reliable.
Prior manufacturing, foundry, or machining experience is a plus, but not required. Recent work experience in any capacity is preferred. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment that is not climate controlled. Hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and stay on your feet for ten hours at a time.
Previous forklift experience would be welcomed.

Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour
