Education/Training: A B.S or B.A. degree in a related field of study preferred; specialized mortgage lending education and training.

Qualifications for this position include:

• Minimum of one year of mortgage origination experience.
• Established referral sources and proven business development skills to support personal production.
• Outstanding communication and customer service skills. Ability to analyze, identify and meet client needs with ESSA mortgage products and referrals to other lines of business.
• Thorough knowledge of mortgage products including conventional and government loans, secondary market requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Must be compliant with SAFE Act and registered with National Mortgage Licensing System.
• Self-directed with strong planning skills, able to follow through and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities of the Mortgage Loan Originator:

• Responsible for actively participating in the Bank’s sales and business development program
• Performing various duties to develop new lending business
• Reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor and providing required information on sales and service activities
• Maintaining a current knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
• Coordinating work within the department as well as with other departments
• Responding to inquiries or requests for information.
